Dry Needling
Trigger point dry needling is an invasive procedure in which an acupuncture needle is inserted through the skin and into the muscle for the treatment of myofascial pain and neuromuscular dysfunction.

Trigger Points are “Hyper -irritable spots in skeletal muscle that are associated with a hypersensitive palpable nodule in a taut band” (Travell & Simons, 1999)
There are Pathophysiological mechanisms causing central and peripheral sensitization. Each trigger point is uniquely associated with a muscle causing a referred pain pattern. (Acupuncture Canada)
